🌍 Last Week in Climate #150
Hey {{firstname|there}}, happy Tuesday!
📩 Here is your weekly digest of everything that happened in Climate the last two weeks.
🌊 I was at the UN Ocean Conference last week and decided to skip the newsletter to fully focus on mingling and learning for our upcoming deep dive on Oceans.
PS: If you want to join our weekly 1-to-1 matchmaking, network in our community space, access our resources, or just support what we’re building — consider becoming a member. It’s just a small one-time fee and it allows us to build and improve inClimate and this newsletter for you.
Today we cover last week’s:
🌍 Community updates,
🚀 Deal of the week,
🇪🇺 Closed funding rounds,
🗓 Events & meetups,
📰 Climate news, and
💼 Climate jobs.

🇪🇸 This Thursday we’ll be hosting our biggest inClimate meetup yet, with 200 members signed up for the 5th edition of Climate Meetup Barcelona in partnership with Norrsken House. It’s sold out, but you can still join the waitlist.
🌊 I was at the 3rd UN Oceans Conference in France last week and had a blast learning more about ocean innovation and running into members and readers. The highlight was a side event by Katapult Ocean, run on a massive sailing boat with hundreds of Ocean innovators and investors. I’ll be sharing much more about Ocean innovation and the conference soon. If you work on oceans, please make sure to add it as your focus area on your inClimate profile so that I can reach out.
📧 I brought back the ability to e-mail members so that you can get in touch with all relevant folks directly, and not just via LinkedIn. If you want other members to email you, make sure to update your profile. To avoid any spammy behavior, only paying members can access this feature.
🙋♂️ We FINALLY have a smooth onboarding process on inClimate.com (thank god!). If you haven’t created your profile yet, now is the best time to do so here (it’s free). The new onboarding also comes with updates to member profiles, so make sure, you update yours here and just click around a bit. Let me know if you have any feedback.
🥳 Reminder that we ended membership subscriptions for inClimate (check your email). We switched to a small one-time membership fee for lifetime access to make inClimate accessible to all while still allowing us to reinvest into the platform and community. More info here.
✅ We’re at 18,360 members signed up on inClimate now. Make sure to create a profile if you haven’t signed up yet!
Coming next:
Two weeks to go in Q2, uff… Three main priorities until then:
💡 Finish the new email onboarding with walkthroughs of all features
🌊 Publish the deep dive on Oceans
📍 Launch “inClimate meetups” to let members host meetups around the globe
All features I’m working on are listed here and you can suggest, upvote, and comment on features.
Deal of the week
🇸🇪 Aqua Cultured Foods is raising their Series A.
“AQUA Cultured Foods is a food technology startup developing the world’s first fish-free seafood through fermentation. Its novel technology produces sustainable fish-free tuna, scallops and more using only a fraction of the resources required by traditional aquaculture. With a focus on product commercialization, AQUA Cultured Foods occupies a unique position in the burgeoning alt-protein market as well as within the fermentation industry. The company’s mission is to mitigate global challenges such as overfishing and climate change, and feed the world’s expanding population with delicious, nutrient-rich foods.”
